Gobaith (Glo-baif), which means hope, is a gigantic universe that has a multitude of connections to other universes and dimensions. A multiverse. In Gobaith, anything can happen, no matter how crazy. That's why this universe is so diverse. This main story revolves around the species called Soullurker, Deathling, Ink Demon and Neeraz. All four have their origins on Earth, but over the centuries they have also spread across the universes. However, all four are threatened by the same evil: Xeryna. An extraterrestrial being with such great power that she can destroy planets. Her little helpers, the Erx, also collect souls and pass them on to their leader, who thereby gains even more power.

Everything revolves around souls. An incomparable energy. While some try to protect them, others just want to keep them for themselves. Which path will you choose?

Liak souls are souls captured from powerful beings such as gods, demigods, demons, angels, magicians, witches and a Soullurkers Gard. Those souls are extremely worthy to Deathling and grants powers to whoever consumes them. It is very risky though.

The first Soullurkers to exist were a two headed Wyvern and an Unicorn that appeared in the middle ages. They belonged to two humans, a King and a Queen. Both were like two sides of a coin; the King a cold and merciless monster; the Queen soft, humble and understanding. Despite their opposing personalities they were meant for each other, both outweighed their negative traits and made them one of the greatest leaders around that time.
Their Lurkers were the same in terms of personality. The Wyvern, Wagir, was a gigantic monster, fierce and brutal. He was used to fend off enemy armies, to protect this land. The Unicorn, Eiryn, was quiet and friendly, bringing fertility to this land. People never had to fear starvation and diseases. Due to Soullurkers longevity their Gards lived for over 250 years, ruling this land undefeated. However, they cannot live forever and they came to a point where death was creeping sooner and sooner. The King feared death like nothing else, he wanted to exist forever in this world - so he decided there was only way: dark, forbidden magic. The Queen was against it firstly but even she was afraid of dying, so were their Lurkers.A ritual was performed to fuse a human with a Soullurker, to fuse souls and bodies together. It was extremely risky but it was their only solution. The result was the King fusing with Wagir and the Queen with Eyrin, their memories, their personalities and powers where melted with each other. Successfully they have turned into one with elemental bodies and immortality. However their powers grew stronger than expected, destroying their bodies and sanity. At this moment, they knew their presence could potentially destroy the planet. With Eiryn and Wagir's disappearance, it left the Kingdom in confusion and destruction. Fertility gone, enemies enslaving people and conquering this land. The Kingdom fell.

The Emptiness

The Emptiness is a special realm or a so-called 'Pocket Universe' between all existing dimensions. It has no particular environment, always changing in appearance as whatever the Great Ones want it to be. Most of the time it appears as a surreal light room, floating fragments looking like glowing gem shards that are pulsing in many different colors and shapes. White clouds are always hovering just above the ground to give you the feeling of walking on air. Physical bounds do not work in this realm. Any Soullurker can enter this with a physical projection of themselves, able to talk with other Lurkers from across the globe and even from different dimensions. This is also the only place where you may be lucky to find one of the Great Ones - Wagir and Eiryn.Soullurkers are the protector of souls, especially those from their Gards. Both the Gard and their Lurker may choose to protect other souls as well by fending off their arch nemesis: Deathlings. Deathlings steal souls and like to target Gards with their Lurkers as their souls are extremely worthy. Both species are in a constant fight.The hatred towards Soullurkers also comes from the fact that Selbracs had to leave the planet earth due humans hunting them down but Soullurkers were welcomed to stay. It was unfair in Deathlings eyes.

Important Characters

Anatomy

Soullurkers cannot be compared to any other being, their bodies are long and thin, leaving little room for internal organs - which they do not have. These beings look as if they were stretched out on the rack. They are not born. They slowly form in their host, which we call Gard. Soullurkers are the manifested souls of their Gard and often resemble them in personality. It is impossible to separate a Gard from its Lurker, the only way would be death. Because Lurkers have no internal organs, they do not need solid food or liquid to survive. They feed solely on dreams - either of their Gards or of foreign beings. This process does not harm the dreamer.The feet of a Soullurker are usually hand-like with a functioning thumb. The tail is almost always divided into segments and is held together by the magnetic field that their body creates. The head of a Lurker is very special, they have no mouth because they do not need to feed on anything, but can communicate through telepathy. Lurkers also only have one fairly large eye on their face, which is often centered, but can sometimes appear on other parts of the head. Their vision is therefore not as good as that of humans, but they can see in spectrums that are not visible to us. In addition, these creatures can also look into the souls of others to find out if they pose a threat to their Gard.The blood is replaced by a substance that we call Glowgel. This gel appears on certain parts of the body, is warm and glows in different colors.

Deathling originally are descendants of Annyfen's Hounds; a group of canids protecting the planet Annyfen. Said planet is within a separated, hidden dimension connected with ours and is inhabited with a species called Selbracs who are mostly anthromorphic or feral creatures looking similar to earth's fauna but with much more intelligence. The Queen of this species is Irohja. Selbracs use souls as primary energy which they receive from collectors - the Deathlings. The Soul Reactor was in the center of the planet, always guarded by at least two Hounds. However, on a tragic day an earthquake shook the planet and two Hounds fell into the reactor. After being pulled out their state was extremely unstable, releasing uncontrollably souls and magic which were already contaminated with Hound DNA. And to their surprise those souls formed into creatures now called Deathlings. It was called the chaotic season.The first Deathlings looked like dogs but with rather distorted bodies; they were full of magical powers and were sent to collect souls from other universes - or more likely steal them. One of the first ones was Otumeel who is now a Royal Guard of the Queen herself. After a few months the hounds learned to control their magic and no more Deathlings were accidentally born, now they reproduce in a different way. From this point on, Deathlings only purpose is to collect as many souls as possible to donate those souls in exchange for wealth and status. They are Irohjas favorite children.Each year in September they celebrate the 'Soul Festival' in which they show off the amount of souls they have collected to trade them for other goods and wealth. It could be compared to the Day of The Dead South-Americans celebrate. All souls collected will be sent to the reactor to power the planet for another year.
As a result of hunting down souls another species - Soullurkers - became one of their arch nemesis. Soullurker souls are an extremely wanted resource and give a Deathling the status of a Prime Hunter, which means they are respected and wealthy - almost like a royal. Most Deathlings will wear them as a trophy or trade them for magical powers. The hatred towards Soullurkers also comes from the fact that Selbracs had to leave the planet earth due humans hunting them down but Soullurkers were welcomed to stay. It was unfair in Deathlings eyes.

Important Characters

Anatomy

Deathlings appear feral or anthro and resemble the anatomy of a Doberman/German Shepherd mix. They have a slight sloped back, a large tail, pretty strong legs with big paws and retractable claws. Their main feature is transparent skin on most of their chest, belly and tail with guts and bones shining through. Guts/bones visibility can vary. Their blood is called Glowgel and may be any color with gradients or textures. Some even have items stuck within it for some odd reason.Their appearances can vary greatly! They can come covered in fur, feathers or scales, can have wings or even fins. With 'fantasy' we mean any type of physical distortion may it be mutations or magical causes. Growth such as fungal, floral or mineral, extra limbs, multiple wings/tails, goopy bodies, large open wounds/zombified looks. Scars and amputations however are commonly seen.Deathlings feed on prey they hunt, but they may be strict vegan or carnivore only, each DL differs. They have large upper canines that can inject paralyzing venom which will immobilize their victim after a few minutes. A Deathlings eye can be any color and pupil shape, there can be two, three or even four pupils.One very important thing is the Lantern, each Deathling receives an item that can hold a light source at the day of their birth which they collect souls with it. Souls are important to their society, they are a currency in Cyllar. Lanterns can be literally anything, from simple light bulbs and candles to complex looking items as long as they are somehow connected to the body and are able to hold souls within it. This does not have to be around the neck! Can be anywhere on the body.The more souls, the brighter the Lantern glows, which also means the more souls the more wealth a Deathling has.New Deathlings are born when two adults come together, share their souls and place a lantern next to a round object. It only works once there's a purple full moon which is happening every three months in Cyllar. The round object can be made out of anything as long as it is hollow. It only takes a week or two for a baby DL to develop within the hollow object and another week for it to hatch. Its appearance may be similar to its parents or completely different depending on the souls.
Deathling sizes can vary between 1 meter to 5 meters. Ling can be smaller but never grow over 3 meters and Greater can become up to 10 meters tall.

Ink-Demons creation wasn't through evolution, no, they were created by a god. A god who was abandoned by his brothers and sisters becoming pure darkness with a heart so black, blacker than the darkest void. His name was Roizhen. He wanted to be like his Brother, Nhad, who created Life and provided them with a beautiful land without diseases and hate. It was perfect. But the brother was so jealous he sent out his minions to spread a disease, which turns bones, flesh, organs and skin into crystals. It slowly eats up the body and immobilizes Nhad's creation. Nhad was angry, the Gods turned against their darker brother and exiled Roizhen for his actions. The god became darker and colder, the more the years passed by.Betrayed, broke and cold, he turned his head against all the laws Nhad had created and tried to claim In'ahek as his. Roizhen used his godly powers to create his very own species, the Ink Demons, made them greater, more dangerous, gave them magical powers and spread them all across the globe. However, soon his species began to cooperate with Nhad's creations. He thought he created monsters to devour Nhad's planet, but his plan went wrong, as he saw how social and friendly his creations were. Full of rage, he was about to destroy the whole planet but suddenly stopped and observed his creations building up friendships, packs and a civilized structure.
For the first time in over hundreds of years, he started to feel something else than endless darkness and hatred. He grew from once the brutal and dark god, to the personal guardian of this world and was given freedom.

Anatomy

Ink Demons are dragon-like creatures with usually large wings and bodies with crystals growing on them. They are quite heavy, but by no means cumbersome. They come in various forms, the most commonly seen being the four-legged form with huge wings. However, there are subtypes that are reminiscent of western, eastern and even snakes. The most massive subtype are the Brutes, they have wings, but they are usually not suitable for flying. The spikes on their shoulders are a must and can vary in length and shape, some also decorate them with jewelry and ribbons. The length of the body can vary, dwarfism is a fairly common genetic mutation. The tail is often long to ensure balance when flying. The head of an Ink Demon can also vary in length and thickness, usually with a slightly jagged mouth, a snake-like tongue and many sharp teeth. They have nostrils in the middle of the front part of the snout and eyes that are directed forward. The place of birth determines the physical attributes of an Ink Demon, but sometimes mutations occur that are considered negative.Every Ink Demon has at least one pair of wings, but these can look different for each Ink Demon. Certain body traits can also affect the wings, such as feathers, slime, or even cyborg and morph!The gems that grow on their body are usually an indication of how healthy an Ink Demon is. They do lose crystals when they get sick, but they grow back quite quickly. The shapes of these gems are usually simple and have a smooth surface, they usually grow in the shoulder and hip region, but can also grow on other parts of the body, rarely on the wings. In addition, there are the uniquely shaped horns on the heads of this species, which are also made of gems - there are no visible ears. Gem colors can be different than the Glowgel, they follow the same coloring rule as the Glowgel.One of the most interesting features is the glow gel that often completely covers the tail. This is a jelly-like body fluid that is easily flammable. Each Ink Demon has its own special glow gel with different attributes, which can also include erosive or poisonous glow gel. Some can even freeze things or ignite them. They can also spit them out. The shape of these areas can also vary! The part on the cheeks and throat is always visible, the rest can look different for each Ink Demon.

The Clans and Gods

Clans are a group of an unlimited size that own a territory on In'ahek. The abilities and appearances of an Ink-Demon will be determited by the clan aswell as the environment. This means an Ink Demon with water abilities would most likely avoid the volcano area. Not all IDs need to be part of a clan, they can split up in smaller groups or even become a loner without any fraction. However, loners are often called 'rebels' and gives them a negative position within the world.
Some Ink-Demons are born with deseases and malformations but also with great and powerful magic, as bad as it sounds, these kind of Ink Demons will be kicked out of the clan and are forced to live in exile. But do not worry, they have their own fraction created by Roizhen himself. Even though Roizhen blessed them with great powers, they are still considered as enemies and will be treated as such.Most magical abilities found below are self explanatory, however some may be a bit more complex. Celestial for example cannot be obtained, it includes immortality, creating planets and complex lifeforms, time travel / manipulating time, mind or body control of an intelligent being. Only the gods may use these type of magic.Dark can use dreams and nightmares to their advantage. They also control shadows and can summon monstrous creatures to aid them in battles or spread diseases to weaken their enemies.

Each Clan has it's Territory and some areas are divided by Clans and some areas are unclaimed. Lonely Island is said to be the home of Nhad. The Neverending Forest is a place with extreme levels of Magic and should be avoided!

These little creatures originate from South America and appeared long before the Spanish destroyed this country and its original inhabitants. The ancient Incas worshiped them as a deity and made sacrifices to them in exchange for fertility and healing. What they did not know, however, was that the Neeraz had no interest in these rituals and preferred to live away from any civilization. They are peaceful creatures who mainly lived in small groups in the jungle or old ruins and gathered once a year around the blood-red full moon. On this day, their magical abilities were recharged.On one fateful day, a particularly old and powerful Neeraz was captured by the Incas and locked in a cage. It was supposed to grant them wishes and forced them to do what they wanted through pain. It was cruel animal cruelty. The years passed and the Neeraz was exploited to the last until it finally lost all its magic. Not only that, but the halos lost their brightness and shape, looking more like heavy, distorted lines. Back then, the Incas didn't know how important Neeraz were to the environment, wherever they appeared, the land was lush and teeming with life. But now that one thing had changed, the land around this settlement became sick, corrupted and dry. The Incas called it a Fallen Angel. Eventually, people fled the area or died of incurable diseases caused by the Fallen Neeraz. It was forgotten, perhaps the cage became brittle and it was released, or other Neeraz freed it - the area has not recovered to this day and is still an eyesore in the middle of the jungle. Feared because of the old legends.For centuries, no Neeraz had been seen, until suddenly they appeared again... to be abused by humans again. Neeraz are a popular pet, easy to keep, cute and, if you treat them well, a friend for life. What many people don't know is that these little creatures have the same intelligence as humans, but are able to hide it skillfully. Now Neeraz can be found all over the world, and of course on other planets too.

Anatomy

These creatures resemble a lizard with wings. The anatomy is rather flat and elongated, with fairly short legs and large feet. Similar to geckos, this species also has small spikes on its toes that allow them to walk up vertical walls. Neeraz are small creatures, no bigger than a medium-sized dog, very light and can float through the air seemingly effortlessly. The face is thick and round shaped with a slit-like nose, large eyes and a mouth with many small but sharp teeth, which they use to hunt mainly fish and insects. Perhaps the greatest feature of the Neeraz are the four pairs of wings: one directly on the back of the head and the other on the lower back/hips. They are often too small to actually be suitable for flying.The eyes of a Neeraz are quite large for the rest of the body, giving them a cute expression, which makes them particularly popular as pets. However, these creatures are far more intelligent than previously thought and they even have their own language, which is somewhat reminiscent of Quechua.The Glowgel in this species is mainly found in special pockets inside the body. These in turn are located on the throat and chest. It is often used as a weapon by squeezing a Neeraz out of these pockets and spitting it out of the mouth. Once it comes into contact with oxygen, it ignites and turns into fire. Unlike the rest of the species, Neeraz have completely normal blood. The so-called halos that appear on the body of these beings are also related to the Glowgel. Most Neeraz have simple shapes like rings around the limbs or even halos that look like small pieces of jewelry. Some, however, have much more complex and large-scale halos that can take all kinds of shapes.
